How Can We Help?
Parenting Groups
Our qualified staff run groups to help adults develop skills in parenting, communication and relationships. Topics include raising resilient children and young people, understanding children’s development from birth to late adolescence, and prenatal and postnatal education.
Advocacy & Referrals
Working out who to see, where to go and what to ask for can sometimes be confusing. We can help you deal with government agencies like Centrelink and the NDIS, and link you up with other community organisations for more support. We can also help you with filling out forms and understanding the steps you need to take.
Family Casework
We provide casework if your family is going through a rough patch. We deal with topics such as relationships, conflict, children’s development, safety, health and wellbeing, and much more. Come for a single visit, a few weeks, or longer if the issue is complicated. You can drop in without an appointment if it’s urgent.
Community Education
We deliver talks to schools, parents and community groups on a range of topics including family dynamics, communication and child development. We also offer a free Lending Library, with an extensive range of books covering parenting skills, personal growth and development, as well as a variety of children’s books. Please get in touch for more information.
Bega Playgroup
During school terms we run a weekly supported playgroup where children and families can play, connect and learn new skills. Bega Playgroup offers inside and outside creative play stations, free morning tea to share and a warm, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
Counselling
We understand that sometimes extra support is needed to help get through difficulties and stressful situations. We offer free confidential counselling, either in person or online if that is easier for people outside of Bega. You don’t need a Mental Health Care Plan to use this service. Our qualified counsellor can assist with issues effecting you individually, or work with families and couples.
